ABOUT ME

"I love to sail forbidden seas and land on barbarous coasts" - Herman Melville

I like reading (and writing) poetry at inappropriate moments, old books and their smell, folk songs, serendipitous historical research, the sea. That certain slant of light. Dickinson, Heaney, Eliot, R.S Thomas, Yeats, Hopkins, Edward Thomas, the Brontës...

I’m hoping to publish my eerie children’s novel. Also working on a book of historical short stories and new novel set during the Napoleonic Wars.
